Six-screen Common Display System with conventional control columns and the dual-FMC flight management system.

How it works

  1. 01Control columns and wheels move cables to hydraulic power control units (PCUs) — no fly-by-wire on the NG; manual reversion if hydraulics are lost.
  2. 02Autopilot Flight Director System (AFDS) with two FCCs; Mode Control Panel (MCP) on the glareshield.
  3. 03Two Air Data Inertial Reference Units (ADIRUs) provide attitude and air data.
  4. 04Master Caution with system annunciator 'six-pack' panels; failures are handled with the paper/electronic QRH.
