Helionix Avionics & Flight Controls

Three-screen Helionix glass cockpit with a 4-axis digital autopilot (AFCS) and conventional collective, cyclic and pedals.

How it works

  1. 01Collective (with twist-grip throttle backup), cyclic and anti-torque pedals command the rotors through dual hydraulic-boosted flight controls; the cyclic and collective act on the main rotor's swashplate, the pedals change Fenestron blade pitch.
  2. 02Helionix integrates three multifunction displays, a 4-axis autopilot (yaw, pitch, roll and collective/vertical), and a flight director with upper-modes (altitude, speed, heading, vertical speed, hover hold, approach).
  3. 03The First Limit Indicator (FLI) combines torque, NG (gas generator speed), TOT (turbine outlet temperature) and NR (rotor speed) into a single needle so the pilot always sees the limiting engine parameter at a glance.
  4. 04CAS (Crew Alerting System) messages replace individual annunciator lights, prioritised red (warning) / amber (caution) / white (advisory) on the lower MFD.
  5. 05Can be flown single-pilot IFR (SPIFR) with the AFCS, or by two pilots for HEMS and offshore operations.

Maintenance guidelines

  • AFCS and FLI self-test and BITE checks per AMM Chapter 22 / 31 before flight.
  • Flight control hydraulic servo and swashplate rigging checks per AMM Chapter 67.
  • Pitot-static and air data checks at scheduled intervals; Helionix software standard verified against configuration.
