Preflight inspection

COMPLETE

Why · Every start begins with a completed walkaround — fuel sumped, oil checked, controls free.

How to do it · Walk around the aircraft as per the checklist. Use the fuel tester and check from the front, side and rear.

What it does · Visual inspection detects damage, leaks, ice and loose parts before they become failures.

Confirm · No leaks, no cracks or dents, tyres in good condition, controls moving freely, tanks full as planned, covers and chocks removed.

Common mistake · Rushing the inspection. Most findings are only seen at close range.
